ABOUT
Following a lifetime of dance, Aiko has been a yoga practitioner for 20 years – disciplines that developed her sixth sense for alignment, posture + best strengthening practices. This innate awareness is communicated through all sessions.
She has a passion for human movement and is bright in her energy and direction.
Aiko formally trained at Atmananda and completed a yoga mentorship at YogaVida, as well as various workshops in New York City and Australia. Her training is in ashtanga yoga with vinyasa flow, and this is reflected in the structure of her classes. Aiko closes her classes with singing bowls – incorporating a sound bath, resonating small vibrations throughout the body for a peaceful meditation. She also completed training with 305 Fitness to solidify her dance cardio, toning + strengthening instruction.
While in NYC, Aiko taught at Ludlow House, SoHo House, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, YogaVida, RA MA and still has an impressive roster of private and corporate clients there. Recently, Aiko moved back to her home town of Brisbane where she opened her first studio, Assembly by Aiko. She specialises in toning, low impact fitness, yoga, stretch + movement, moon workshops and meditation. All to bring about greater mind body balance and improve overall wellbeing.
Going a little deeper, from as early as Aiko can remember, intentional movement, such as dance, played and still plays a huge role in regulating her body and mind, and feeling more balanced as a result. Keeping that life force moving is central to Aiko’s existence and Assembly by Aiko is her translation of this.
